Friday Movie Review: Candleshoe

This is a movie from my childhood. Bob and Virgie had it on BETA! And when the BETA machine died, so did my opportunity for watching it, until the other day. I found this movie at the LIBRARY! Oh how I love the library!

This movie takes place in the 1970s. Jodie Foster plays a hooligan for LA that is taken to England to try and portray a long lost heir to a potential fortune. She is quickly able to win over the heart of the heartbroken grandmother, for she has never stopped searching for her granddaughter. The problem the fortune was hidden somewhere on the estate of Candleshoe. Jodie Foster needs to keep up appearances with her new "grandmother" and still search for the treasure. This movie is good fun! Brian had never seen it before I made him watch it, and he enjoyed it. Aidan even sat through it.

The movie is highly recommended! It stars Jodie Foster, Helen Hayes (the brillant stage and film actress) and David Niven (the first James Bond? or was he?). If you liked Goonies you will enjoy this fun movie!
