My weekly update

Sorry I have been avoiding all of you lately. Or at least if it seems that way. I haven't done it on purpose. The last week has been a whirl wind of events worthy enough of documentation, but sadly I just haven't had a chance until now.

Last Wednesday we finally got the keys to the house. We went to dinner and received a phone call from the sellers realtor saying that he had them and would be able to met us later that night. What a wonderful feeling! Later that night we managed to get a moment and sit down with the computer and the telephone and beg and plead with family and friends to come and help us move the following night. I was so nervous that no one would show because it was on such short notice. I am happy to say that I worried for nothing. It is amazing to have such wonderful family and friends that are willing and able to drop the plans they had made so that they could come and help us out. I am so grateful for Jeremy, Steven, Ann, Lorraine, Debbie, Joe, Suzie, and Katelyn. They were real troopers and were amazing. We moved 99% of our stuff from Suzie's house to the trailer in about two hours. Then we ate some pizza and then in about 20 minutes we unloaded the trailer. How awesome is that! A big thank you to Debbie for knowing about the special trailer. And a big thank you to Jesse for dropping off the trailer. Once again it is awesome to feel the blessings of friends, family and especially the Lord. I could not keep myself together that night. After everyone left my heart was so full. I am so blessed!

That first night was amazing. Both Brian and I were thoroughly exhausted but it felt nice to sleep in our own bed in our new house.

The next day Brian headed off to work and I (being unemployed has its advantages) tinkered around the house slowly putting things were they should go and then moving them again. I have this constant feeling of being extremely overwhelmed. I will say it now....this house is too big for us. Granted that was the idea...buy a home to grow into...not one you regret. I have made sure to get Brian to call his sisters and parents on a regular basis to come over, when others are over here I feel more at home. I have called Bob and Virgie over a lot to come and just spend some time with me. Aidan has been having an adjustment issue and having them come over helps to down play his stress. Who doesn't get happy and relaxed around Grandma and Grandpa? On Friday night we went and spent some money on little necessities like food and paint samples. Then Ann and Lorraine came over for a visit. This story was nerve racking at the time but now it seems funny....those are some of the best events. Aidan started to get noticiably ornery and tired. So Ann took him to his room and prepped him for bed time (diaper changed, bottle, and pajamas on). Then she put him in the crib, turned off the light, closed the door and walked away. Well Aidan had a break down. We knew it was coming so we did what any parent would do...ignored it. He will just cry himself to sleep right. Well shortly thereafter Ann and Lorraine left and Brian and I retired to our bedroom. Then we heard it....silence. We both looked at each other and smiled relieved that he had finally drifted to sleep. Not more than two minutes later, Aidan's door opens and he walks out yelling at me...in a chastising way, I might add. Our son had found the motivation to climb out of his crib. We were hoping for him to wait a little while longer...but no luck. I put him back in the crib, as an experiment. Was that a one time event? Nope...and he is very quick about it now. So Aidan slept with us that night. The next night his crib became a transition bed.

Saturday was a memorable and wonderful day. We woke up early and headed to Logan. Brian and Ann were able to take out their endowments and go through the temple for the first time. It was so delightful. Crazy...but delightful. My heart was so full that day. The Logan temple was extremely busy that day...15 weddings or sealings in 4 hours. And to make it worse our situation was very confusing to all of the workers. I am married to Brian. Brian is Ann's sister. Brian and Ann were taking out their endowments for the first time so that I, previously endowed, could be sealed to Brian in August. And I was Ann's escort. I am pretty sure that a couple of the workers wanted to marry Ann and Brian for time and all eternity that day. :0 Good thing I was previously endowed and had some knowledge of what was going on. I had also been an escort before so I knew when to correct and assist the workers to getting us to the correct spot. On a side note my name is Katie Anne Larson and my sister in law is Ann Larson...I think that is were some of the confusion began....Brian could have been married to both of us that day. But when all was said and done....it was a wonderful experience. There were many who came a long way to support us....Grandpa Bob, Stephanie, Whit, John, Karrie, Charles, Mary, Kellie, Dustin, Reed and Linda. Reed and Linda weren't able to attend the same session as us but their support was still there, at the temple. We then took some photos and went and ate at a local Logan hot spot...the Bluebird. What a delicious treat! We had some others come and eat with us...Lorraine, Virgie, Suzie and Aidan. We couldn't forget our little guy! The food was yummy so if in the area try the Bluebird. Then we returned home for a relaxing day.

Later that day we met the previous owner. She is a doll. We found out that she and her family bought a house that Brian and I had talked about but deemed it out of our price range (it really was)...funny huh! Then Ann came over to play the game of Life.

Sunday we had much to do...we planned on attending two sacrament meetings but apparently the exhaustion got to us because we didn't wake up, any of us, until nearly noon. The first meeting was at 9AM and the second was at 1PM. People have said that we could have made the 1PM meeting but it would have been so crazy to try we decided against it. See, we don't have hot water. It wasn't to be turned on until Monday afternoon. So we would have had to pack up and head to Suzie's for a quick shower (that's three of us) and then hopefully make it there by 1PM.

Kellie and Dustin came over and saw the house. Ethan was sad to leave. That made me feel kind of good. He and Maren are welcome to come and play whenever they want to, Aidan would like that.

Now the days are mellowing out a bit. Monday we went and got some stuff from Steph. How awesome is she to let us use some of her stuff for a bit. Cool stuff too... like a couch, chair, washer, dryer, computer desk etc. Now our house is beginning to feel like a home.

So that has been our week in a nut shell. Hopefully soon I can get a slide show up. Life away from the blogging world has felt a big weird. But now that we have the internet back...hopefully I can get back to normal...and soon!
